HOT BITS Strong Results at the Nov 2010 Tall Pines Rally, Canada(11/30/2010)

Leading the way for Hot Bits were Ugo Desgreniers (Orford, QC) and Erik Kirby (Sherbrooke, QC) with an impressive 7th overall finish in their Open-class Subaru campaigned by Hot Bits dealer 'R-Tuning'.  This result gives Desgreniers the 2010 Novice title and 8th in the overall driver standings for the 2010 Canadian Rally Championship.

In his first Open-class outing, Peter Kocandrle (Milton, ON) brought the Hot Bits Performance Parts Volkswagen R32 home in 9th place overall alongside co-driver Alex "Rally Brat" Kihurani (Philadelphia, PA).

"The car was really good," said Kocandrle.  "Within the team we set a goal of finishing my first Open-class event in the top-ten.  I tried my best to drive smart and I learned a lot about rallying in this sort of car.  We're really happy to have achieved our goal and I'm looking forward to more!"

Coming home 1st in the PGT class and 12th overall were Tonik Motorsport driver Warren Heywood (Chelsea, QC) and veteran codriver Ray Felice (Guelph, ON).

"We struggled with a broken first gear for the second half of the rally." said Heywood.  "Because we won the PGT-class championship when we crossed the starting ramp, there wasn't really any pressure.  We debated changing the tranny but we decided against it. I'm glad we took the risk - it feels great to get such a good result here at Pines!"

Sealing his 2010 Production Sport class championship with 17th overall and a class win was driver Jeffrey Dowell in his Mitsubishi Lancer DR.
