Round 1 of the Canadian Touring Car Championship Results

Round 1 of the Canadian Touring Car Championship at Mosport International Raceway is complete. Amico racing BMW driven by Dean Fantin, running on HotBits suspension finished 3rd in the first race. With a good start took the lead at corner 1, at corner 4 the heavens opened up with heavy rain. Dean was overtaken by the Subaru of Richard Boake in these slick conditions and managed to keep in touch with the Subaru while maintaining a good gap to 3rd. Midway through the race a severe crash brought out the safety car which bunched the field up and allowed Arek Wojciechowski’s BMW to jump past at the restart. A great controlled drive to 3rd in these conditions, congratulation Dean.

Race 2 was a well done 4th place after a self confessed error cost Dean 2nd, charging back he closed the gap but ran out of time to make any more forward.

We look forward to the next race weekend in Quebec at Mirabel ICAR circuit.
